ABOUT ME

Hey! I'm Jake Raterman.

I am a SWFL based freelance lighting designer with a BA in Theatre and a BS in Child & Youth Studies from Florida Gulf Coast University. In addition to my work as a designer, I currently work as the Production Manager at Players Circle Theater in Fort Myers.

My goal is to use design not just as decoration, but as a tool that deepens emotional connection and guides the audience’s journey through a production. I have been lucky to work in a variety of spaces on a wide range of productions in the SWFL area. Some of my favorite projects I've worked on include Alice By Heart, The Wolves, In The Heights, and Home for the Holidays.

My work is built on collaboration. I thrive in joyful, supportive environments where humor and hard work go hand in hand. I approach each project with openness, creativity, and care, finding that laughter often sparks innovation and strengthens ensemble bonds.​​
